ESKAS is more than a scholarship programme. It builds lasting relationships and trust, the foundations on which international cooperation depends. It connects our research to international networks that keep Switzerland dynamic, competitive and globally relevant. ESKAS alumni now work in ministries, universities, research institutions, international organisations and NGOs. They are part of a global network advancing science and cooperation.

Sparmassnahmen bei Bildung, Forschung und Innovation verstärken den Fachkräftemangel und schaden der Schweizer Wirtschaft
Mit dem Entlastungspaket 2027 für den Bundeshaushalt sind Kürzungen der finanziellen Mittel im Bereich Bildung, Forschung und Innovation (BFI-Bereich) in der Höhe von mehr als 460 Millionen Franken pro Jahr vorgesehen. Die vom Bundesrat in der Vernehmlassung vorgeschlagenen Massnahmen werden es den Hochschulen zusätzlich erschweren, die von der Schweizer Wirtschaft benötigten Fachkräfte auszubilden. Auch der geplante Investitionsrückgang bei der Forschungs- und Innovationsförderung wird sich negativ auf die Schweizer Wirtschaft auswirken: ein vom Bund eingesparter Franken bedeutet einen volkswirtschaftlichen Verlust von bis zu fünf Franken. Die Akteure des BFI-Bereichs fordern den Bundesrat auf, auf diese massiven Einsparungen zu verzichten.
