Global South Perspectives for the Revision of Guide for Transboundary Research Partnerships

For the revision of the Guide for Transboundary Research Partnerships - 11 Principles and 7 Questions, this project analyses the guide and research collaborations in general from Global South perspectives. Integrating these perspectives is in line with the GRP-Alliance engagement for equitable North-South research and crucial in the light of the decolonisation debate.
The Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) at the University of Bern has several long-standing partnerships in the Global South and a wide network with various actors engaged in sustainable development. In addition, researchers at the CDE have recently focused on how to conduct more equitable, contextualised and conflict-sensitive research. Building on these two elements, researchers from the CDE network from LMICs and Switzerland aim to facilitate perspectives from the Global South on transboundary partnerships. The project will provide insights on the KFPE Guide from this perspective and draw links to adjacent fields that influence partnerships and capacity development, such as contextual awareness and conflict sensitivity. These insights will be a source of information for the revision of the KFPE Guide.
